Ever since the end of the NFL season, Sundays have been all about the hard court, when the NBA has treated its fans to some of the most exciting action of the year. With another incredible lineup scheduled for this Sunday, all eyes will once again be on some of the top teams in the association, beginning with the top two pay head teams in their respective conferences in an afternoon matinee.

The Bulls became the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season when they beat the Atlanta Hawks by 21 points on the road Wednesday night, and that was with reigning MVP Derrick Rose watching from the bench. Rose continues to miss time with a groin injury after dealing with back issues earlier in the year, but head coach Tom Thibodeau’s squad hasn’t missed a beat, with a strong supporting cast working together to maintain their position at the top of the East. Chicago ranks first in the NBA in rebounding and second in points allowed, which is as much a credit to the job Thibodeau has done as it is testament to the talent and depth on his roster. The Bulls will face one of their toughest tests so far this year when they take on an Oklahoma City team that had no problem with the Miami Heat exactly one week before, and it should be an exciting matchup with one of the association’s top defenses against the NBA’s best offense. Chicago’s road record is almost as good as the Thunder’s record at home, and since something has to give, it makes sense to take the points with the pay head bookies' underdogs.

After getting bounced in Oklahoma City, the Heat weren’t that much better in Indiana the following night, and it appears as though Miami is experiencing more problems than just Lebron Jame’s dislocated finger. James expects to play for the Heat this weekend, but if Miami is going to have any price per head chance at beating a resurgent Celtics’ team they are going to have to stop turning the ball over. Boston has won seven-straight at home to pull back in to the picture at the top of the Atlantic division, and with Kevin Garnett playing like an All Star at the five-spot and Rajon Rondo doing his thing at the point, the Celtics will push Miami at the garden.

Golden State Warriors @ Los Angeles Lakers

Things aren’t quite as Lakers’ fans would like them to be in Los Angeles right now, but the general bookie software user consensus is that the team should be able to get things together in time to make one more playoff run, with Kobe Bryant once again leading the way. A visit from an absolutely awful Warriors’ team should help speed up the process somewhat, as one of the association’s best home teams does its thing against a Golden State team that hasn’t been very good regardless of where they play.
